  13. Dbank is a network-ready, tree-structured filing system for time-series and
  14. cross-sectional data that runs under Microsoft Windows.    In addition to providing
  15. numerous commands for managing, editing, manipulating, viewing and plotting such
  16. data, Dbank allows you to export the data to many statitical packages and
  17. spreadsheet programs.

  19. Dbank could be useful to people who need to organize a lot of data on their hard
  20. disk; it might be useful to people who keep the same data in different formats
  21. because they routinely use more than one statistical/spreadsheet package to
  22. analyze their data; and it is likely to be useful to institutions/corporations
  23. with large databases that need to be shared with many users across different
  24. platforms.

  26. Provided you have Windows 3.1 or higher and Windows is NOT already loaded,
  27. you can start Dbank from the DOS prompt by typing: dbank
  28.  
  29. To run Dbank successfully, you must load SHARE.EXE BEFORE you start Windows.
  30. If your DOS directory is in your DOS path, you can do this by typing:

  32.         SHARE /L:500
  33.  
  34. at the DOS prompt.

  36. DBANKDOC.PS is an ASCII PostScript file containing the manual. It can be
  37. sent directly to a PostScript printer without further processing.

  39. All the files in the original dbankwin.exe directory can now be erased.
